Legend says that the hills of Verona were all cultivated with white grapes.
To defend the vineyards, local farmers exterminated the crows (corvi), who were feeding on the grapes.
One day, however, a farmer found a wounded crow, he had compassion and cared for him.
When the bird was able to fly again passing close to the vineyards, the grapes turned from white to black.
Thus was born the most famous grape variety in our area, characterized by clusters winged and sparse, medium-sized, oval berries, dark in color, the leaves are not very large.
